The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has established hip and elbow dysplasia scoring schemes which aim to reduce the incidence and severity of both conditions.

To be eligible for scoring, your dog needs to be at least 12 months of age, and have a valid microchip implanted. The radiographs are taken under general anaesthesia, and copies submitted to BVA. The results are usually available within 3 weeks.
